A timing chain tensioner is an important component in a cars engine that helps maintain optimal timing of the engines valves. It uses hydraulic pressure to keep the timing chain taut and prevent any slack or excessive movement. The timing chain is responsible for synchronizing the rotation of the crankshaft and camshaft, ensuring that the valves open and close at the precise time. The tensioner helps maintain this synchronization by keeping the chain tight and in the right position, which is vital for the engines overall performance and efficiency.The timing chain tensioner consists of a piston and a ratchet mechanism housed in a cylinder. When the engine is running, oil pressure enters the tensioner, forcing the piston to extend and exert pressure on the timing chain. This pressure keeps the chain properly tensioned and prevents any slacking or jumping of the timing chain. By maintaining the correct tension, the tensioner helps prevent timing chain failure, which can lead to serious engine damage or even complete engine failure. Regular maintenance and replacing the timing chain tensioner when necessary are essential for ensuring the longevity and smooth operation of a cars engine.On 20/02/2025 at 00:29:32 AEDT, seller added the following information:.dc_tracker_img{display:none;}.dc_tracker_img:last-of-type{display:block;}p:empty+hr{display:none;}hr+span.ebay,hr+*>span.ebay{display:none;}
